Despite Klay Thompson not playing basketball late in this year, he has been vocal about Black issues with police brutality in America and has been using social media to spread awareness. His latest Instagram posts encourage others to support Black businesses and demand justice for Elijah McClain.
More recently, the Golden State Warrior responded to San Francisco Giants relief pitcher Sam Coonrad after giving an excuse as to why he didn’t kneel prior to the anthem in solidarity with the rest of his coaches and teammates. The Giants pitcher argued
“I’m a Christian. So I just believe that I can’t kneel before anything besides God.”
